Scope of Works

The scope of the works for V.J. Donegan was to undertake the construction of 2nr 4500mm and 1nr 6000mm internal diameter caisson shafts to be used for 1200mm diameter micro tunnel pipe jacks as part of the drainage works for the scheme.

All 3 shafts were sunk from the top down using either concrete or steel cutting edges and a hydraulic shaft jacking system.

Upon reaching formation level, the shafts were grouted, caulked and the mass concrete plugs cast as per the construction drawings.

Project Start Date / Completion Date

V.J. Donegan were mobilised to site in December 2017 and the works were completed in early April 2018, at total of 8 weeks longer than programmed due to design changes increasing the scope of the works, adverse weather conditions closing the site for a prolonged period and delayed access to the work areas.
