Scope of Works at Cookesmere Lane, Sandbach

  • The works included the construction of a new 6.00m diameter shaft which would act as a foul sewage detention tank / pumping station and a 4.00m diameter CSO chamber incorporating a powered screen.
  • There was also approx 165m of 525mm and 450mm on-line sewer replacement both in the residential roads and from the new CSO through an adjacent field to an outfall into a local water course.
  • After the main construction works were completed and the new system was operational the existing pumping station and CSO were demolished, then a permanent grass paving system for HGV access was laid across the entrance and around the new underground detention tank.
