Case Study

The project was a flood alleviation scheme, and the photographs show the construction of a 20.00m diameter shaft which will act as a storage tank in times of heavy rainfall.

Scope of Works at Brunswick Road, Altrincham
You will note that the upper part of the shaft is supported by pre-driven steel sheet piles. This method was employed due to the anticipated unstable ground conditions within the top 9.00m depth of the shaft.
On completion the shaft was approx 20m deep and provided over 5,000m3 / 5million litres of storage capacity for storm water.
